Obsidian - TaskNotes MCP Demo with Claude Desktop
Stop managing tasks one by one in Obsidian and let AI handle the tedious work for you.
Stop managing tasks one by one in Obsidian and let AI handle the tedious work for you.
It can be exhausting creating or updating dozens of tasks, especially those for a big project, in any task management app.
Here’s a better way: MCP + AI + Obsidian TaskNotes.
In my latest demo, I asked Claude to create a complete 90-day plan for a new real estate agent. Not only does it create the outline of the plan but it also creates each task, sets the scheduled and due dates appropriately and associates them to a project. Instead of spending an hour building out a project and tasks myself, I gave it to my ai assistant.
Claude automatically:
Created 30 individual task files
Set appropriate due dates across the 90-day timeline
Added scheduled start dates (so you don’t procrastinate)
Organized everything into a project with tags
Even set priority levels based on importance
The beauty? The potential to simply hit enter and have AI handled the grunt work while I do something else is real. This isn’t about AI being faster—it’s about the “Who Not How” philosophy. Why spend your time on tedious setup when you can delegate it?
MCP shines for bulk actions, cleanup routines, and automated workflows. Think of it as having a tireless assistant who never complains about repetitive work. An assistant that when given proper instructions will follow then to the letter and is less prone to making errors and typos.
